Honey Care Africa is a member of the International Fair Trade Association
Since 2000, as Honey Care spear-headed developing the emergent space of Social Enterprise, we have impacted 12,000 farmers. Now, with our significant specialized knowledge, and recent developments in microfranchising as a model to scale rapidly in a rural African setting, we have discovered the key to scaling up our impact exponentially, and have settled on the biggest opportunity, with the biggest financial & social impact.
This is a cottage industry that was started and is run by a Kenyan woman. She buys all her fabrics locally and employs skilled and trained women from the Hawkers Market Girls Centre to make all her products.

The HMGC was created to empower young women between the ages of 12-21 years from the Mathare slums and other similar areas, enabling them to become educated, self sufficient, as well as emotionally and physically secure.
The HMGC provides its students with a safe and secure class environment that feels more like a home than a school. The centre offers students daily meals, lessons and opportunities in skill development, as well as the opportunity to become apart of a greater organization.
As part of the Kenya Girl Guide Association, the students benefit from a life long sisterhood, improved self esteem, and a greater sense of self worth.
